        Alex has been playing and composing music since the age of 7. In 1999, along with some of the coolest people on earth,  Headgear Recording Studio was open to the musician community in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. At Headgear,  Alex was able to work alongside some of the greatest bands, engineers and producers of the new millenium. Critically acclaimed artists such as: The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV On The Radio, The National, Phosphorescent, Son Volt, Nada Surf, Kurt Vile, Lee Scratch Perry etc... Legendary producers and engineers such as: John Agnello, Dave Sitek, Gordon Raphael, Greg Gordon, Chris Shaw, Peter Katis, John Hill, Chris Coady, Chris Moore, Scott Norton, Dan Long etc... The list goes on and on!!!!!!

        In the mid 2000’s, Alex composed songs and contributed instrumentally to The Jealous Girlfriends. For five years the "Girlfriends" would release two albums and a few singles. Highlights included: massive touring within North America appearing with  Nada Surf, Sea Wolf, The Wedding Present etc.. The Jealous Girlfriend’s self titled LP had songs featured in Television Shows such as: Grey’s Anatomy, The L Word, and CSI: Miami. As a session musician, Alex has lent his chops to Shakira’s “She Wolf”, Santigold’s debut album “Santogold”, The Hold Steady,  Admiral Freebie's new record (with Steve Shelley of sonic Youth, and Jeff Bailey of Phosphorescent) and countless more! Alex has engineered such artists as: Nada Surf, Santigold, Okkervil River, Say Hi, We Are Augustines, Phosphorescent, Teachers, Virgin Forest, Ribbons, The Sharp Things, Light Asylum etc….

        You can check out some of Alex’s recent production work on the Gabriel Miller-Phillips debut record and on his instrumental project Joy By Proxy. One of JBP’s songs is featured on the compilation entitled ’78 LTD, which you can grab at Thick Syrup Records.

        What’s recent? Alex has finished tracking and mixing a full-length for Gabriel Miller Phillips , Sam Marine’s latest LP and is currently finishing LP projects for Frame and Parkspace.  2014 promises to be a very PRODUCTIVE year!
